It's my treat, this time

Did you think that Mae graduation celebration has been concluded.  You're wrong!

From, White Corals Resort, we convoyed to Subic Bay Freeport Zone and resumed the celebration at the favorite Xtremely Xpresso Cafe.

Stop posing! Let's order!

Big Ben Pizza

Carbonara

Pesto Pasta

Chicken Oriental Salad

Chili Wings

Chips and Dips

My Iced Capuccino.  No beer for me yet.

Guess who footed the bills?  It's Wifey!

Mae celebration continues - Day 2

I woke up at about 4:30 AM and prepared for my biking adventure to Subic Freeport - Morong Gate.

While waiting for the sunrise, I concocted and ate my breakfast - adobo sandwich with cheese and lettuce!

I left at about 6 AM and returned three hours after.

Mae offered me halo-halo, which I gladly accepted and thanked her.  It's so refreshing while resting.  Then, I devoured my breakfast of hotdog, tocino, egg, and garlic rice.  And, the dip into the sea water made me more refreshed.  Back again at the table to eat more.

Lunch time.  Aside from the left-overs from yesterday, sis-in-law cooked stewed prawns and fish.

Still full, I only ate a small portion of stew and adobo.

After eating, we hurriedly packed our things; as, our time at the resort was running out.

Thanks again, Mae and sis-in-law, for your wonderful blow-out.

Mae's celebration

After the graduation ceremony came the celebration.  It's an overnight stay at the Bataan White Corals Beach Resort in Morong, Bataan

And, wow!.  The food was aplenty food, which was good for a battalion. Thus, it turned out to be an "eat all you can, but, you can't" situation.

Actually, I'd started eating ready to eat food as soon as I sat on the table - boiled sweet potato, chico, lettuce, adobo sandwich.  There some more - corn, mango, halo-halo, etc.

The cute celebrator, Mae:

The special guests:Potpot and Pancake, respectively:

The long and wide table:

The cooks: Wifey and Mae's Mama:

"Just wait for a while please; and, the dinner shall be served":

The dinner:  Kare-kare seafood, grilled talakitok, grilled squid, lettuce salad, and the chicken adobo:

That's a sumptuous dinner.  I still wanted to eat more but  . . .  There were left-overs, which would be dealt with tomorrow.

Thanks, Mae!  I wish next month you graduate again.

Lunch with the widow

Boy's interment was concluded at almost 10:00 am.  From the cemetery, Elvie, the widow, and her two friends rode in my car with wifey.

Along the way, I was already feeling hungry and thought of passing by a restaurant for a snack. Elvie was quicker to pull the gun.  She announced her invitation for an early lunch.  Accepted, we went to Don Cuisine along Commonwealth Avenue; but, it's still closed until 10:30 am.  No problem!  We proceeded to the nearby Kowloon Restaurant, which is open 24/7.

I was given the task to order.  "How much is the budget?  Five thousand?", I asked.  Go!
  • Assorted Seafood Noodles;

  • Half Fried Chicken;

  • Fish Fillet in light soy sauce;

  • Yang Chow fried rice.

Everybody's full and satisfied.  And, there were leftovers, which were taken out.  The bill?  It's less than a thousand.

Thanks Sis!

Boy is laid to rest

Reyman (Boy) Doruelo
January 1, 1963 to March 23, 2013

Boy, my brother-in-law , who just turned 50 years , succumbed to an illness last March 23.  His remains was lain in state in his sister's home at Bgy. Holy Spirit, Quezon City.  Finally, this morning, he was laid to rest at Bagbag Cemetery in Novaliches, Quezon City.

At about 7:30 am, the funeral mass was celebrated at a chapel in Good Shepherd Cathedral in Faiview, Quezon.
The bereaved

Then, right after, the funeral convoy proceeded to the final resting place.

Boy, I'd known you for about four (4) years only; but, I knew you were a great man, a good father, and a good husband to my sister. And, I SALUTE you for that, Brod.  Again, farewell!

Congratulations, Mae, on your graduation

Happy graduation, Mae; and, Congratulations on this achievement.

Mae is our niece - the daughter of my sister-in-law.  She just finished B. S. in Information Technology at Colegio de San Juan Letran - Bataan.  And, today is their Graduation Ceremony.

I'm wishing you the best of luck on the next chapter of your life!

But, first, let's celebrate! He he he . . . Oh, by the way, we have an invitation from her to celebrate her success at a beach resort in Morong, Bataan tomorrow.  See you then, Mae!

No number coding tomorrow

My Kia Carens last number of its plate is 6.  As such, it is not allowed to ply Metro Manila's streets every Wednesday from 7:00 am up to 10:00 am and from 3:00 pm up to 7:00 pm.  And, it is not allowed in Makati City from 7:00 am up to 7:00 pm.

But, there's good news!  Due to the Lenten Season, the MMDA lifted the number coding from March 27 (tomorrow) until April 1, 2013 (Monday).  However, Makati City Government lifted the number coding on March 28 (Thursday) and 29 (Friday) only.

And, tomorrow (Wednesday) is the start of the suspension of the number coding.   Yipee!  I could drive within Metro Manila (except Makati City) anytime tomorrow.  Anyway, I will not report for work tomorrow; so I don't need to go to Makati City.

Without hassle, we could attend the interment of my brother-in-law, Boy tomorrow morning.  The mass will be held at about 7:00 am.

My good friend treats me

My good friend and former boss, Albert, came to the office late this morning to treat me for lunch.  He just celebrated his birthday last Thursday; hence, the treat.

When was the last time that we saw each other?.  Four, five years ago?  Oh! I couldn't remember anymore.  He, too, couldn't exactly recall.

We ate at the Tea Republic located at the ground floor of the building.  While eating, we talked about our illnesses, the good old days, and updates on our former office mates.

Belated happy birthday, Pards; and, thank you very much for the lunch.  Hope to see you again soon, perhaps, with Robbie, Gerry, and Ric.

A rainy summer?

It's summer already!  PAGASA has officially declared its onset in the country last Monday, March 18, 2013.  But, surprisingly, there has been occasional rains here in Metro Manila.  Some of which resulted to flooding.

Before I slept last night, it's raining.  And, it's still raining when I woke up at 4:30 this morning.  Whew! would it be a wet summer?

And, the long 4-day vacation due to Lenten season is just around the corner.  Let's hope that it wouldn't rain then and spoil the Lenten celebrations, whether religious or otherwise.

Enjoy your long vacations!

Family dinner

Yesterday, my family's eating dinner out at a Filipino restaurant in Trinoma from a promo deal acquired by wifey.  Yehey!

At the restaurant, she presented the voucher and ordered additional food.  The table was set; and, the drinks served. When we're about to open the bottle of softdrinks, the waiter was rushing back and told us, "Mam, your voucher is good at the Mega Mall branch only."  What! I drove this far; and, we ended up at the wrong branch.

Wifey asked if we should proceed with our orders.  But, I just decided to have our dinner at my favorite pizza parlor - Shakey's.

The Mojos n' Dip was served as a starter

Then, the Chicken Buddy Pack

And, the large Pizza combination of Angus Steakhouse and Friday Special.

Still hungry, I ordered additional pizza - regular Manager's Choice

I love eating pizza, especially with a mug or two or three of draft beer.  But, this time, I didn't order one.

Burp!  Already full and satisfied, we paid the bill and went home.

Goodbye, Boy!

I'm saddened and sorry that we've lost Boy, my brother-in-law, yesterday.  He's Elvie's (my younger sister) hubby.

Our deepest condolences to Elvie, Boy's family and relatives.

We will miss you, Boy!

You may rest in peace!

Pepper Lunch

Yesterday, wifey and I had our lunch in Trinoma.

We shared these:
Salmon Teriyaki
Beef Teriyaki

The food's good, all right!  But, as we're already hungry, we didn't read the instruction to mix all the ingredients first.

Pneumonia Vaccination

I just had a shot of Pneumonia (Pneumococcal) Vaccine this morning.

My doctor advised me to have it because of my diabetic condition; as, persons with diabetes mellitus are at high risk to pneumonia.  She also advised me for an Influenza Vaccine; but, I deferred it in the meantime.

A shot of Pneumonia Vaccine is effective for five (5) years; so, I don't have to worry about catching a pneumonia for the next 5 years.

By the way, the cost of a shot is P2,000.

For more information about Pneumonia Vaccination, please visit MedicineNet.com.

Be healthy always!

No more beer, I wish!

Beer! Another beer! More beer! No more beer!!!

I'd been a beer drinker since my third year high school days. And, when I got a job, I'd been drinking more frequent and heavier.  Sometime, I could consume more than 12 bottles in one sitting.

I'd attempted quitting or just reduce my intake several times but failed.  Because, I was thinking of the workers from the breweries and the other sectors that would benefit from my drinking.

But, lo and behold, I've miraculously stopped drinking beer (and all alcoholic drinks) exactly a month ago.

That's really a miracle and let's celebrate and drink.  Oooops!

However, I didn't do it on purpose but neccesitated due to an illness, which requires me to take antibiotics daily.

I'm still recuperating from the illness, which would take more than 6 months.  And, when I fully recovered, let's see if beer could beckon me again to drink.

I am Tom G.

Hi, everyone!

"I am Tom G." Tom is my first name; and, G is the initial of my surname.

I've been a blogger since 2007 and have created several blogs from different blog providers. And, this blog is my latest creation.

My first blog was "tom.i.ph", which I titled "Think Of Me!". You will note that the first letter of each word came from my name "TOM".  Brilliant! Isn't it?

Unfortunately, i.ph closed shop.  Hence, my three (3) blogs there are permanently gone.  Nonetheless, I'm thanking i.ph for discovering about blogging, the wonderful opportunity and experiences of blogging.

I have other blogs in blogspot.com, bravejournal.com, and wordpress.com.

Aside from the enjoyment of blogging, I also earned some money from it.  It's not a bad sideline earning from $5 to $30 per post.  But, some years back, my blogging time became limited.  And, I rarely visited my blogs, let alone write a post.  That cut off my enjoyment and my sideline.

I'm hoping that I could have more time blogging.
