Tumblers

These are my two Omega travel tumblers, which I use for brewing my coffee.  The green one is in my office; while, the violet at home:

A piece cost P300 only.  The capacity is 400 ml, with a heat retention of 6 hours.  They are made of stainless steel with polypropylene cover.

I checked also the other brands, such as Emsa, Tiger, and Zojirushi with heat retention of 24 hours..  Better, all right; but, they cost more than a thousand bucks

For my purpose, the Omega tumblers can do the job.  This is where I measure and store the 200 ml hot water for a few moments before pouring over the coffee grounds.

A coffee lover & a coffee addict

I love coffee - it's aroma and taste!

And, I've been addicted to it!  As a matter of fact, I drink 6 to 10 cups of freshly brewed coffee a day.

This is the mug that I use for my coffee sessions at the office:

And, this is for home use:

A birthday gift for myself

Today's my birthday!  And, I'm a year older and, hopefully, wiser.  It's 57 / 57.

To celebrate, my family ate lunch at City Buffet in SM City Fairview.  After our lunch, we proceeded to the Cyberzone Center and bought myself a gift.  And, guess what I got . It's a laptop - Acer Aspire V5-132P.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Watching my weight

I just checked my weight; and, it's 64 kilos.

Last year, I think I had weighed almost about 80 kilos already.  Due to my illness, I seldom got good night sleep and lost my appetite.  In the middle of the night, I woke up due to headache.  And, eating, especially meat, had been very excruciating experience.

Now, that my appetite is back, I have to eat more and regain the lost kilos.

Another hospitali-cation

I was out of the hospital and just waiting for the results of the biospy.

Last Monday, we received text message from the ENT about the results.  He wanted to talk to us to discuss the next move.

The next day, wifey and I went to his clinic.  The result was not malignant.  Good!  But, he wanted to confirm by getting another tissue from the deeper part.  We had no choice but to agree just to confirm.  The operation is considered minor; but, it had to be done under general anaesthesia.  So, we spent the rest of the day getting clearances from the HMO, a cardiologist, and I was subjected to Pre-Anesthetic Risk Evaluation and Stratification.

The following day, I was admitted again.  And, the operation was performed the next morning.  I thought, I would be discharged in the afternoon.  But, the doctor informed us that I needed to be observed for 24 hours after the operation.  And, we waited for another day for a total of 3-day hospitali-cation.

Hospitalization instead of vacation

Last Friday, we're supposed to head to Subic Bay Freeport Zone and spend the weekend there with some family members.

However, due to severe headaches for the past weeks, I consulted a neurologist at the St. Luke's Medical Center in Quezon City instead.

The doctor suspected a hematoma in my brain as a delayed result of my bike accident last March 15.  He, then, advised for confinement for diagnostic examinations and, if necessary, operation to remove the hematoma.  So, the Subic trip was off; and, good bye vacation.

The CT Scan result showed no hematoma.  Good!  The doctor's suspicion was wrong.  Thus, the connection to the bike accident was ruled out.

However, it captured a lump in my naso pharynx.  An ENT entered the picture, who endoscopied my nose up to the naso pharynx.  A lump was confirmed.  The next move was biopsy.  And, the result would be out in one week.

Meantime, I requested for discharge; as, I've been confined for 5 days.  It's so boring in the hospital as a patient.

I'm getting fat

Everybody notices it; and, I'm feeling it.  The scale confirms it.  I'm now heavier by about 4 kilograms since I got out of the hospital last March.

Now, I have to watch my food intake lest I'd get fatter and heavier.

My Adsense Earnings

When I accessed my Google Adsense account a few days ago, I noticed that my earnings had reached over $100 already and a payment check has been issued and delivered to my home address.

Yesterday, I already received the payment check, which was already converted to local currency.

The earnings were derived from Google advertisements published on my and wifey's blogs.

It's a good feeling receiving a check practically sitting down.

Thank you very much Google Adsense.

My new mobile phone

I was using two mobile phones - a Cherry Mobile Cutie P9, my personal; and a Samsung Galaxy S3, company issued.

Enticed by Sun Cellular offer, I subscribed to its Plan 600 with the following features:
  • Free Alcatel One Touch Idol mobile phone
  • Unlimited Calls & Texts (Sun to Sun)
  • P250 Consumable (calls to other networks, IDD & NDD)
  • 350 FREE SMS to other networks
  • Holding period - 30 months.
With the auto-charge scheme, the processing took about 30 minutes; and, I immediately brought home the phone.

My renewed driver's license

It's been 3 years since the last renewal of my driver's license.  And, it's expiring again tomorrow - my birth date.

After my doctor's check-up, I proceeded to the LTO Driver's License Renewal Center in Ever Gotesco Commonwealth.  From the time I entered the center at about 12 noon, it took about 45 minutes to get my renewed license.  There were few applicants at that time.

I paid the total amount of P950.00:
  • Computer fee - P50.00
  • Medical / Laboratory - P400.00
  • License fee - P416.68
  • Change - P82.32 (I forgot to ask for it.)

Good news, bad news

The result of my ultrasound revealed that the complex mass in my liver has further shrunk by about a half.  My doctor said she wasn't worried anymore as it about to disappear.  That's good news!

But, there's bad news!  I got sweeter.  From 7.26 mmol/L (132 mg/dL) last month, it's now 141 mg/dL.  So, my doctor changed my medication to Glucovance.  It's a 2-in-1 drug and to be taken once a day in the morning only.
